“Marry Me” Cookies

First things first: Yes, you want to make these cookies. Yes, they are rich. Yes, you can’t eat just one. Yes. Just yes.

I haven’t made cookies like these in AGES because I try and stay away from eating 5000 calories worth of sweets at once which is inevitably what happens when I make a cake/cookies/brownies at home. I have no self control, at all. But when I ran across this recipe (maybe on Pinterest, I can’t remember… Does it matter?) I was like “Alright, lets do this thang.” I initially tried to hold off like I told my Facebook followers but within 72 hours I had had enough of putting of this extravagant cookie feast and got to baking.

DSC_0486 editHow precious are these? The method is a little different from other recipes because instead of creaming together softened butter and sugar, you actually melt the butter and then mix in the sugar. I think this leads to a more consistent texture and flaky texture in the cookie so I will def be doing this the next time I make cookies (which will hopefully be no time soon, haha). Since the batter is warmer than usual, after you make the dough balls you need to freeze them for about 30 minutes to get a delicious and pretty cookie. These cookies are packed with chocolate chips and the hint of cinnamon is perfect. The recipe calls for half a teaspoon, but I’m a cinnamon fiend so I went ahead and added a whole teaspoon! *shocking*

You can find the recipe here. Enjoy!
