iii Points Year V is coming Oct. 13 – 15 and I could not be more excited. Can it be October already?

Being totally honest, I don’t get excited for stuff until like 2 hours before it happens. At some point between my thesis studios and getting a full time job I was supremely jaded and shit is just not as exciting as before.

WITH THAT SAID, I’m craaaazy excited for iii Points this year. The exclusive acts, the mix of art/tech/music and the cherry on top, location, have made this festival something I look forward to year after year. You just can’t beat a music festival that is 20 minutes from your house (or even closer if you don’t live in the suburbs like me).

The guys who put this festival together really hit the nail on the head with the type of acts to bring down here. I see it this way, Miami is known for being really into a mix of dance and hip hop, right? So here they’ve brought together alternative acts of both genres and the things in between.

Year V of iii points has shaped up to be the best one yet. I mean, the Gorillaz? Thats absolutely insane. Still not over that announcement. Yesterday they announced The XX and today’s lineup announcement clued us into the last headliner, Nicolas Jaar. His set in 2014 was 2 (or 3) hours and I hung out the whole time swaying to the beat. I’m looking forward to a repeat.

The lineup includes some people I just did not think I’d ever see live just because I wasn’t sure about how much exposure they’d gotten in Miami; Melody’s Echo Chamber, SOHN, Mr. Twin Sister, and Willow. I guess I underestimated Miami.

From the whole lineup, I’m most excited to jam out to the Gorillaz (my most played on my zune as a teenager was DARE), Bonobo (his latest album was fire), KAYTRANADA (dead. just dead.), and Rüfüs (see: Innerbloom).

Check this playlist out for all the songs I’m looking forward to jamming too at iii Points this year:

Sooooo, who’s going?? Who are you most looking forward to dancing to?

See ya out there.
