Italy, Lazio, Tivoli
Thursday, August 20, 2015

Imagine being able to compile a list of your favorite places/spaces that you’ve ever been able to visit all over the world and build it to create your own expansive villa? Sounds like a dream, right? Well it happened for one luckily Roman emperor in the town of Tivoli, outside of Rome. Hadrian was a lover of the arts and architecture and wanted to create a home that would remind him of the beautiful buildings he’s seen while traveling the Roman empire. Touring the ruins of the villa, you can travel beyond Rome and throughout the empire. A must-see for aspiring architects and lovers of architecture.

Tip: Make sure to make your way out to the Roccabruna belvedere for an amazing view of Tivoli and the surrounding countryside. It’s a little hidden but worth finding!
